▶️FCC wil satellieten 20.000 MHz meer spectrum geven

▶️De Amerikaanse toezichthouder FCC heeft een spectrum wijzigingen goedgekeurd, met name om satellietdiensten mogelijk te maken. De Amerikaanse toezichthouder op communicatie hoopt door te gaan met de toewijzing van meer dan 20.000 MHz aan spectrumbandbreedte om uitgebreide satellietbreedbanddiensten mogelijk te maken. De FCC stemde unaniem tijdens haar openbare vergadering op 22 mei om dergelijk gebruik te onderzoeken in vier spectrumbanden: het bovenste deel van de 12 GHz-band, beginnend bij 12,7 GHz; de 42 GHz-band, de 52 GHz-band en vier ongebruikte delen van de 75-110 GHz W-band, met een totaal van 18.000 MHz. FCC-voorzitter Brendan Carr zei in een verklaring na de stemming dat "elke band een potentiele gamechanger is. " Het agentschap zei dat de hoeveelheid spectrum die in overweging wordt genomen groter is dan al het spectrum dat momenteel beschikbaar is voor satellietbreedband. Hij zei dat de extra frequenties rijp terrein waren voor zogenaamde volgende-generatiediensten. ▶️Sterke zonne-uitbarsting verstoort radioverkeer

▶️Vanochtend werd een geomagnetische storm met een kracht van G3 (Kp index = 7) waargenomen. Deze wordt veroorzaakt door snelle stromen van negatief gepolariseerde coronale gaten. Hierdoor koppelen ze zich met het aardmagnetisch veld. De propagatie op de kortegolfbanden worden dienovereenkomstig verstoord. De laatste dagen is de atmosfeer onder invloed van de zon zeer onrustig: de condities zijn matig en dat is goed te merken aan het aantal stations dat QRV is. ▶️Amerika niet voorbereid op grote zonnestorm

▶️Een Amerikaanse taskforce is, naar eigen zeggen, slecht voorbereid is op de verstrekkende gevolgen van een zonnestorm. Dit nieuws komt op de verjaardag van de Gannonstorm - de krachtigste geomagnetische storm die de aarde in twintig jaar heeft getroffen. Een taskforce van de Amerikaanse overheid, die elf jaar geleden werd opgericht om noodsituaties in de ruimte te beheersen, heeft aangetoond dat zij niet in staat is een dergelijke crisis succesvol te beheersen, volgens een recent rapport dat leden van de taskforce eerder deze maand publiceerden. Verschillende kritieke tekortkomingen kwamen aan het licht na afloop van een tweedaagse oefening begin mei om de paraatheid van Amerikaanse instanties in een dergelijke crisis te beoordelen. De oefening simuleerde een crisis waarbij verschillende CME's op weg waren naar de aarde, wat leidde tot wijdverspreide stroom- en communicatiestoringen, radiostoringen en stralingsgevaren voor NASA-astronauten op een maanmissie. Dit was de eerste oefening in zijn soort voor de taskforce, die bekendstaat onder het acroniem SWORM, wat staat voor Space Weather Operations Research and Mitigation. Onder de deelnemende instanties bevinden zich het Amerikaanse ministerie van Binnenlandse Veiligheid en de National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Volgens het rapport bleken de protocollen van overheidsinstanties zwak en ontbrak het aan effectieve coordinatie tussen de verschillende instanties. Deze uitdagingen werden met name kritiek genoemd, omdat de waarschuwing voor de impact van een inkomende coronale massa-ejectie enkele dagen tot slechts een half uur van tevoren gegeven kan worden. Het rapport prees de oefening voor het identificeren van deze problemen en riep onder andere op tot de ontwikkeling van een geavanceerd waarschuwingssysteem en een geavanceerde ruimteweersatelliet. ▶️Het programma Amateur Radio on International Space Station (ARISS) meldt dat het amateurTV-systeem eind juni (opnieuw) in het internationale ruimtestation ISS zal worden geinstalleerd. ARISS heeft bijbehorende informatie over Mastodon gepubliceerd: mastodon. hams. social/@ARISS_Intl/114540858087234186. AmateurTV werd oorspronkelijk in 2013 in het ruimtestation geinstalleerd. Het Duitse amateurblad CQ DL 9/13 heeft hierover uitgebreid gerapporteerd in de artikelen "Columbus wordt zichtbaar" door Oliver Amend, DG6BCE; "Ham TV Project on the ISS" door Fabio Azzarello, IZ5XRC, en "Ham Video - een DATV-zender voor Columbus" door Gaston Bertels, ON4WF. ▶️Chinese onderzoekers bereiken met succes "onderwater-DX"

▶️Een team van Chinese wetenschappers heeft een mijlpaal bereikt op het gebied van onderwatercommunicatie door een foutloze akoestische gegevensoverdracht over een afstand van 600 km tot stand te brengen. Dat meldt de in Hongkong gevestigde South China Morning Post. De afstand komt overeen met de afstand tussen Stralsund en de Letse Oostzeekust. Walvissen kunnen laagfrequente liedjes uitwisselen over een afstand van 8.000 km. Een experiment van de Amerikaanse marine uit 2010 toonde eveneens aan dat communicatie over een afstand van 550 km in principe mogelijk is. Het is echter een hele uitdaging om over zulke afstanden een foutloze transmissie te garanderen: zeewater verstrooit geluid in multipad-echo's, Dopplerverschuivingen vervormen signalen van bewegende objecten en omgevingsgeluiden overstemmen zacht gefluister. Op een afstand van enkele honderden kilometers kan een explosie, vergelijkbaar met een raketlancering, worden teruggebracht tot het geluid van een zoemende mug. Er werken momenteel naar schatting 2,25 miljoen wetenschappers en ingenieurs in China. Daarnaast studeren er jaarlijks zo'n 4,2 miljoen studenten af aan Chinese universiteiten - velen van hen in STEM-vakken zoals wiskunde, computerwetenschappen, natuurwetenschappen en technologie. ▶️Zeppelinvlucht tijdens HAM RADIO 2025

▶️Ook dit jaar is het, als de weersomstandigheden het toelaten, mogelijk om tijdens de HAM RADIO in Friedrichshafen een QSO te maken met het amateurradiostation aan boord van een Zeppelin. Op zaterdag 28 juni om 09: 25 uur zal Hans Schwarz, DK5JI, QRV zijn op 2m in FM tijdens een 30 minuten durende vlucht over Friedrichshafen onder de roepnaam DLOZZF/AM. De frequentie is 145,550 MHz. Gezien de hoogte waarop de Zeppelin zal vliegen en de afstand tot Nederland is het niet waarschijnlijk dat hij in Nederland te horen zal zijn. Maar als je toch Friedrichshafen bezoekt, is een QSO met de Zeppelin mooi meegenomen. Post Views: 1

▶️IARU komt met nieuwe visie en elimineert regio's

▶️De IARU viert haar 100-jarig jubileum, vertegenwoordigt lidstaten over de hele wereld en coordineert frequenties en andere zaken. De organisatie gaat haar tweede eeuw in met een grote verandering in gedachten. Stel je eens een IARU voor zonder aparte entiteiten, bekend als Regio 1, Regio 2 en Regio 3. Stel je een totale herstructurering voor die een wereldwijde entiteit zou creeren, waarbij de afzonderlijke regio's, gescheiden door oceanen, talen en culturen, zouden verdwijnen. De IARU heeft aangekondigd dat ze precies dat overweegt en heeft een voorstel gepresenteerd om de onafhankelijke regio's te verenigen tot een geheel, in samenwerking met het Internationaal Secretariaat, om de besluitvorming te stroomlijnen, gedeelde belangen beter te coordineren en het lidmaatschap te versterken in regio's waar het ledenaantal afneemt. Het administratieve hoofdkantoor van de IARU is momenteel gevestigd in de ARRL in de Verenigde Staten. De IARU heeft richtlijnen gepubliceerd voor een mogelijke herstructurering om de organisatie te helpen de moderne uitdagingen het hoofd te bieden. De voorgestelde wijzigingen zouden de drie afzonderlijke regionale organisaties samenvoegen tot een wereldwijde entiteit. Het voorstel schetst een aantal gebieden waar de huidige onafhankelijke regionale organisaties mee worstelen. Problemen zijn onder andere een afnemend ledenaantal, dubbele middelen, gebrek aan coordinatie en diverse andere inefficienties. De wijzigingen zijn bedoeld om een aantal voordelen te creeren. Deze ingrijpende verandering zou natuurlijk niet van de ene op de andere dag plaatsvinden. De IARU zal de aangesloten organisaties vragen om te stemmen nadat ze de consultatie over de herstructurering hebben bestudeerd, die beschikbaar is op de website van de IARU. Goedgekeurde wijzigingen zouden pas volgend jaar worden doorgevoerd. Post Views: 1
