Q codes

The Q code is a collection of three-letter codes, all beginning with the letter Q.
Originally, they were used by radio telegraph operators transmitting in Morse code.
Later, they were also adopted by amateur radio operators to facilitate communication in voice transmissions.
The list provided here contains the most commonly used codes for amateur radio and is a subset.

The ITU has reserved the following series for specific services:
QAA–QNZ: for aeronautical services,
QOA–QQZ: for maritime services,
QRA–QUZ: for all serv
